Boone’s record, Familiar Faces, will be released on May 20, 2014. Listen to the album on Bandcamp.com.
Arts management instructor Mark Bryan, founding member and lead guitarist for Hootie & the Blowfish, has taught and mentored Boone at the College. Bryan sings and plays mandolin on a couple of the new CD’s tracks.
“This new record is a full emotional release of everything up until now of my whole college and musical career,” Boone said. “It feels like I am both graduating from college and the beginning of my musical career. The professors and staff in the Arts Management program truly did prepare me for the life of a musician.”
The official CD release party will be held at the 8th Annual First Flush Festival at Charleston Tea Plantation on May 24th, 2014. The headlining act is The Avett Brothers. Tyler and his band go on at 5 p.m.
