Heather Chipley, director of admissions at the College of Charleston agrees. “Visiting a campus is the only way a student can determine if they can really see themselves there – whether it is a good fit for them, academically as well as socially,” she says. “The campus will be their ‘home’ for the next four years – where they are comfortable, they are more likely to be successful! A campus visit can help to develop the short list of which schools to apply to. There are so many schools out there and students should only apply to those where they would want to be.”
