Researching women’s health issues requires a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach, says Andrea DeMaria, assistant professor of public health in the Department of Health and Human Performance.
In this video, DeMaria explains why studies of women’s health issues benefit from multiple academic perspectives.
“Right now we are doing numerous studies looking at women’s health issues,” Demaria says. “I take a really holistic, multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary approach to my research.”
DeMaria is a co-director of the Women’s Health Research Team along with Beth Sundstrom, assistant professor of communication. DeMaria is also working with the Division of Student Affairs to develop a bystander intervention program.
