Adria Crawford has been named assistant women’s basketball coach at the College of Charleston.
Crawford, 24, joins the Cougar family after spending the last two seasons under head coach Bill Reinson at Longwood University in Farmville, Va. In her new role at the College, Crawford will be responsible for developing the team’s promising cadre of post players.
While at Longwood, Crawford was instrumental in all aspects of the Lancers’ program, including both on- and off-campus recruiting, opponent scouting and game-plan preparation. She also assisted with the coordination of team travel, player skill development, and practice preparation.
Prior to her time with the Lancers, Crawford was a four-year member of the women’s basketball team at Georgetown University, where she helped lead the Hoyas to a 23-9 overall mark in 2011-12 and advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
“Coach Crawford is coming to the staff with a lot of energy and enthusiasm,” said head coach Candice M. Jackson. “She is one of the up and coming coaches in this business that make you stop and take notice. Having played at a very high-level while at Georgetown just three years ago, Adria is able to relate to the student-athletes on a different level.”
