The College of Charleston men’s basketball team will face a tough non-conference and Colonial Athletic Association schedule during the upcoming 2014-15 season, including eight opponents that advanced to postseason play a year ago.

Cougar basketballThe season kicks off with an exhibition game on Nov. 8, 2014, when the Cougars host NCAA Division III opponent Emory University at noon in TD Arena. The Eagles advanced to the Elite Eight in 2014.

The College’s official season-opener takes place on Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, in Greenville, S.C., when the Cougars take on former Southern Conference rival Furman.

The Cougars play their first home game of the season against Gardner-Webb on Nov. 17, 2014.

Highlighting the non-conference portion of the Cougar basketball schedule is the program’s participation in the ESPN Puerto Rico Tip-Off, to be held Nov. 20-21 and 23, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Cougars will play an opening round game against defending national champion Connecticut on Nov. 20, 2014. The game will be shown live on ESPNU.

The month of December kicks off with a three-game homestand at TD Arena starting with crosstown rival The Citadel on Dec. 2, 2014, followed by South Carolina State on Dec. 11 and Campbell on Dec. 14.

The 2015 CAA Men’s Basketball Championship will return to Baltimore Arena on March 6-9, 2015, in Baltimore, Md.
