In its first major interconference regatta of the fall season, the College of Charleston coed sailing team made a runner-up finish at the Hatch Brown Trophy regatta hosted by MIT over the weekend in Boston.
Behind the veteran expertise of junior All-American skipper Jake Reynolds (San Diego, Calif.) and senior skipper Nick Johnstone (Newport, R.I.), the Cougars improved on a seventh-place finish a year ago at the annual 18-team event. Yale (277 points) won the regatta by a 98-point margin of victory over CofC (375 points) in second and Roger Williams (387 points) in third.
Reynolds and junior All-American crew Ali Blumenthal (Bellport, N.Y.) placed fourth in A-Division, while Johnstone and junior crew Seppie McAdams (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.) placed third in B-Division.
