The Earl Grant Era began on Friday as the College of Charleston men’s basketball team went through offensive and defensive drills during its first official day of practice at TD Arena.The NCAA allows teams across the country to practice 42 days prior to their first official game of the 2014-15 season. The Cougars will commence their upcoming campaign at former Southern Conference rival Furman on Nov. 14 in Greenville, South Carolina.

Grant says there are a few things they will focus on in the first few practices.
“Building good defense and find a way to get everyone on the same page in terms of unification, effort and accountability. We want to give our guys an idea of how to run a play when we get a defensive stop or a clean rebound, be aggressive in the open court or after a made basket and just the style of play.”
