College of Charleston Head Coach Earl Grant will be honored by his alma mater in a jersey retirement ceremony to be held on Friday, Dec. 5, at R.B. Stall High School located at 3625 Ashley Phosphate Road in North Charleston, S.C.
Grant, 37, was a two-sport athlete in football and basketball for the Warriors from 1992-96. He was a three-time all-region (1994, 1995 and 1996) and all-state (1996) selection, who wore No. 10 in high school as did former CofC star and NBA veteran Anthony Johnson. In 1995, Grant led the Warriors to a region championship title and totaled 1,541 points during his four-year career.
“We are honoring Earl to recognize his stellar basketball career at Stall High School and the impact he continues to have on the Stall community by being an example that our student-athletes can follow today,” Stall High School Principal Kim W. Wilson said.
Grant’s high school coach, Kim Deese, and his geometry teacher that had an impact on him as a student, Sara Greenberg, will be in attendance at the game.
The ceremony will take place between the girls and boys basketball games against Cane Bay High School at approximately 8:00-8:15 p.m. Tickets are priced at $6 for admission into the game(s).
