The College of Charleston Women’s basketball team will host the second annual “Curing Kids Cancer Night” on January 16, 2015 during the basketball game between the College and Towson University.
All proceeds from the basketball game will go directly to Curing Kids Cancer, an organization that helps raise awareness for Leukemia.
College of Charleston senior forward/center Mikaela Hopkins said this fundraiser is personal.
“My best friend’s mom, Tammy Williams, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia 2 years ago,” says Hopkins. “Tammy was like a second mother to me and I loved her dearly. I am thankful for this opportunity to honor her and raise support for those who are still battling Leukemia.”
