Former College of Charleston men’s basketball star and 2011 NBA Draft pick Andrew Goudelock has been named a Turkish Basketball League (TBL) All-Star.
The school’s all-time leading scorer (2,571 points), Goudelock will compete in the 2015 TBL All-Star Game and ParaMara 3-Point Shooting Competition to be held on Sunday, Jan. 18 at Ankara Arena in Ankara, Turkey.
Goudelock has turned in a great first half of the season playing for Fenerbahçe Ülker, who is currently in third in the TBL with an 11-4 record. He is averaging 12.1 points per game and will compete against nine-year NBA veteran Carlos Arroyo among others in the three-point contest. Goudelock was the Mercedes Benz 3-Point Champion held in conjunction with the 2011 NCAA Final Four in Houston, Texas.
Last year, he was named the Euroleague MVP and set the all-time Euroleague record for three-point field-goals made (10) in a 93-86 victory over FC Bayern Munich on Nov. 13, 2014. Goudelock finished the game with 34 points, four assists and three rebounds.
He is one of 24 athletes who will take the court on Sunday representing eight different nations including the U.S., Turkey, Montenegro, Australia, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Puerto Rico and Croatia. Players competing for TBL clubs based in Europe will take on representatives of the league’s Asia-based clubs. The TBL’s second half of the season gets underway on Jan. 24.
