One of the best perks of living in Charleston is enjoying all the events that pop up each year. One of the biggest festivals of the year, the Southeastern Wildlife Expo, is only a few days away.
Don’t know what events to attend at SEWE this year? I can help.
Here are some of my personal favorites:
Dock Dogs Competitions
This is a must-see event. These distant descendants of Air Bud jump like the pros they are. And best of all, if they don’t perform well in the competition, they take a page out of Taylor Swift’s book and shake it off.
Birds of Prey Flight Demo
You’ve gotta catch this one – if you can. Me, personally? Not really a fast food fan, but it’s still worth watching these birds soar around the Holy City.
Duck Decoys Auction
This one is always worth “ducking in” to check out. Of course you want to be careful not to bid too high – you don’t want to be stuck with that bill.

Fly Fishing Demos
I prefer spearfishing to fly fishing, but I love watching shiny things zip through the water as much as the next guy. It reminds me of that red dot I caught once; absolutely mesmerizing.
The Living with Wolves exhibit.
This one should be interesting. In College I lived on the same floor with eastern timber wolf. We didn’t hang out much, but I remember he had a weird thing about sheep’s clothing.
Enjoy.
