College of Charleston baseball embarks on its second-ever Colonial Athletic Association season with a three-game series with Towson at Patriots Point March 20-21. The series begins on Friday with first pitch slated for 6 p.m.
Due to unfavorable weather forecasts for The Lowcountry on Sunday, College of Charleston baseball has moved game three of the Towson series up to a doubleheader on Saturday, March 21.
First pitch of game two is still scheduled for 3 p.m., with game three to take place immediately afterwards.
The Cougars are 11-6 on the year, while Towson has a current record of 2-15. This is the first CAA series for both teams this season.
“We are excited to start CAA play and know what the expectations are heading into this weekend,” says College of Charleston head baseball coach Monte Lee. “We told our guys that there is a change of the season with the beginning of conference play, and I feel that our guys understand the importance of playing our best brand of baseball every single conference weekend.”
The College has alternated wins and losses in its last seven games, most recently upending Campbell and snapping the nation’s second-longest active winning streak on Tuesday evening.
Towson has lost four straight and seven of its last eight games. Towson is allowing its opponents to hit .326 this season and surrendering over 9.0 runs per game on average.
