College of Charleston senior third baseman Carl Wise has been named Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week for his role in CofC’s 4-0 week and 3-0 start to CAA play.
Wise batted .500 (8-16) with two doubles, a triple, a homer, eight runs scored and nine RBI in College of Charleston’s 4-0 week. The junior third baseman was 2-for-3 with a double, homer, three runs scored and four RBI in a 10-3 victory at #27 Campbell last Tuesday and was 3-for-4 with a triple and four RBI as the Cougars topped Towson 19-8 in the series opener. He capped the Towson series by going 2-for-4 with two runs scored in a 12-9 victory and slugged .938 for the week.
On the year, Wise is batting .312 and leads the league in home runs (7), RBIs (29), and slugging percentage (.688).
The honor is the fifth weekly award for the Cougars in six weeks.
