Spoleto festival USA favorite Anne-Marie McDermott will perform at the College’s Sottile Theatre on April 7, 2015 to finish the 2014-2015 season of the International Piano Series presented by the College’s School of the Arts.

The talented pianist’s program for the International Piano Series is scheduled to include Sergei Prokofiev’s Sonata No. 6 in A Major, Op. 82 and three works by Franz Joseph Haydn: Sonata in G Major, Sonata in C minor, and, Sonata in C Major.

McDermott plays more than 100 concerts a year, including solo performances and collaborations with her sisters, Maureen McDermott and Kerry McDermott in the McDermott Trio. Anne-Marie McDermott has also released an all-Schumann recording with violist Paul Neubauer, as well as the Complete Chamber Music of Debussy with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m., in the Sottile Theatre, 44 George Street. General admission is $20 and tickets are free for students. Tickets may be purchased online, at the door, by emailing concerts@cofc.edu, or by calling 843.953.6575.

McDermott also will offer a free master class open to the public on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Recital Hall in the Simons Center for the Arts, 54 St. Philip St.
