The No. 2-ranked College of Charleston sailing team won the SAISA Team Race Conference Championship over the weekend. The win qualifies the Cougars for a berth at the 2015 ICSA Team Race National Championship to be held May 29-31, 2015, in Newport, R.I.

A one-day regatta was all the College needed to claim the conference victory after going 5-1 through the three-round round-robin hosted by Eckerd College. The Cougars defeated host Eckerd and South Florida to secure the win.
“We’re really looking forward to the opportunity to compete with the other top teams in the country up in Newport next month,” said senior Ali Blumenthal, team captain and a two-time ICSA All-American crew from Bellport, N.Y. “We are stoked to be going to the big dance again.”
The Cougars will close out the regular season with the Navy Spring event hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy on April 18-19 , 2015, in Annapolis, Md.
