College of Charleston baseball team ranks in the top 20 in five nationwide polls.

Following an incredible week in which the Cougars earned five straight wins, No. 18 College of Charleston baseball has made a jump in all five polls recognized by the NCAA, earning Top 20 national rankings across the board.

Cougar baseball is ranked as high as No. 18 in the country, according to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and USA Today Coaches Poll. Charleston is ranked No. 19 by both Baseball America and D1Baseball, and No. 20 by Collegiate Baseball.

In the all-important NCAA RPI, which factors teams’ wins and losses as well as strength of schedule, the Cougars are currently ranked 25th. The RPI figures heavily when the NCAA Tournament selection committee determines at-large bids, regional hosts, and tournament seeding.
