Both College of Charleston women’s and men’s golf teams are headed to the NCAA tournament.
The men’s golf team will be traveling to The Course at Yale in New Haven, Conn., on May 14 to participate in the first round of the NCAA Golf Championship. The women’s team will head to the Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, N.C. on May 7.
Both teams qualified for the NCAA tournament after winning their respective Colonial Athletic Association tournaments.
The Yale Regional includes top-seeded Vanderbilt, LSU, South Florida, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, San Diego State, Iowa, NC State, Ohio State, Troy, North Texas, Robert Morris and Saint Peter’s (N.Y.).
The Raleigh Regional includes top-seeded South Carolina, LSU, Mississippi State, Northwestern, Florida, Central Florida, Furman, Alabama, Iowa State, Ohio State, host NC State, GRU Augusta, Coastal Carolina, Campbell, CofC, Seton Hall, Wichita State and Fairleigh Dickinson.
The women are making their sixth all-time NCAA Regional appearance in school history (2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2014 and 2015) under head coach Jamie Futrell.
The men are making their fifth all-time NCAA Regional appearance in school history (2001, 2002, 2003, 2014 and 2015) and second under head coach Mark McEntire.
