The College of Charleston Class of 2015, which graduates on May 15 and 16, 2015, has already begun to change the world. The class’ accomplishments include entrepreneurial ventures, scientific discoveries, published works and sustainability efforts, proving that a College of Charleston education is truly BOUNDLESS.

Take a closer look at the accomplishments of the Class of 2015.

More than 1,500 graduates will walk across the Cistern stage,  representing 40 states and 22 countries. The most common male names in this graduating class are Michael, William, Andrew, Robert and Nicholas. The most common female names are Emily, Katherine, Sarah, Elizabeth and Lauren. The youngest graduate is 19 while the oldest is 67.

In this year’s undergraduate class, the most popular majors are business administration, communication, psychology, biology and political science. From the University of Charleston, South Carolina, the first ever Peace Corps Masters International (PCMI) graduates, Laura Mudge ’15 and Andrew Wynne ’15, leave the school with master’s degrees in environmental science, having served two years in the Peace Corps and two years in the classroom.

“Completing the PCMI program was my most difficult, yet rewarding, accomplishment yet,” said Mudge, who heads to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill this fall to begin a doctoral program in biology.

Additionally, the master’s of science in mathematics program congratulates its largest graduating class to date. Several members of the mathematics graduate program, as well as some of the larger graduating class of the University of Charleston, South Carolina and of the undergraduate Class of 2015, will proceed directly to Ph.D. programs across varying fields following the summer break. More than 130 graduates will enroll in medical, dental, veterinary, pharmacy and nursing schools in the fall; 52 students have been accepted to medical school, 25 students to nursing school, 17 to dental school and 21 to pharmacy school. Students will also be continuing their education in allied health professions including Physician Assistant, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, cardiovascular perfusion and health administration. Others, of course, already have careers or volunteer work lined up.

The Class of 2015 has already brought incredible pride to the College. Their fellow Cougars can’t wait to see what’s in store for these incredible graduates after they officially become alumni.
