Dear campus community:
In working with the City of Charleston on funeral arrangements for the late Senator Clementa Pinckney at TD Arena and at the direction of President McConnell, the College is closing much of our downtown campus operations, including Harbor Walk, on Friday, June 26.
All non-essential employees of the main campus should not report to work. Essential employees from areas such as public safety, physical plant, residence hall and food service should report to work as previously scheduled. Supervisors should notify their employees as soon as possible regarding their employees’ work schedule for Friday. Supervisors also should work with their employees to make-up work hours at a mutually convenient time.
All classes are cancelled for Friday, June 26, 2015. Makeup classes may be held on Saturday, June 27, at the option of each individual instructor. Addlestone Library will be open for regular hours on Friday and will be open Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The IT Helpdesk will be available additional hours on Saturday as well.
Employees who work at the North Campus or at Grice Marine Laboratory should report to work as regularly scheduled on Friday, June 26.
All normal activities of the College of Charleston will resume on Saturday, June 27.
Sincerely,
Ed Pope
