College of Charleston Head Soccer Coach Christian Michner has announced the 2015 women’s soccer schedule, which is highlighted by nine home games, four 2014 NCAA Women’s College Cup participants and culminates with the Colonial Athletic Association Championship in early November.
The season-opening homestand begins with The College hosting the Charleston Nike Classic, featuring the 2014 NCAA College Cup squads Texas and Clemson as well as Miami (Fla.). The Cougars will take on the Hurricanes on Aug. 21 and face off against Clemson in the classic finale on Aug. 23.
“We’re very excited about our fall schedule and know that it will challenge us with some tough matches both home and away,” Michner said. “We will be tested right out of the gate with a huge home weekend at Patriots Point where we will welcome perennial NCAA teams in Texas, Miami (Fla.) and Clemson. It’s an incredible way to start our season. I know our team will be up for it and ready to tangle with some of the nation’s best.”
The Cougars will open their 2015 CAA campaign hosting Delaware on Sept. 25 and Drexel on Sept. 27 at Patriots Point.
