President McConnell greeted students at a Peanuts-inspired information booth on the first day of classes.

College of Charleston students got a surprise on the first day of classes Tuesday (Aug. 25, 2015) when they approached a campus information booth for directions. The booth was staffed by President Glenn McConnell ’69.

President McConnell, now beginning his second academic year at the College, stood behind a makeshift booth made up to resemble the psychiatrist’s booth popularized by Lucy in the Peanuts comic strip. McConnell dispensed advice, gave directions to lost students, handed out CofC koozies and posed for photos.

“It was a lot of fun,” McConnell said. “I enjoy every opportunity I get to meet and interact with our amazing students.”
