The Google employees will be based at the Avery Research Center for the duration of their stay, as the Center is the recipient of a $125,000 grant from Google to spark conversations about race and inequality.
Learn more about the grant here.
Google awarded the grant to the Avery Research Center, along with grants awarded to the Coastal Community Foundation’s Lowcountry Unity Fund and the International African American Museum, following the tragic mass shooting that took place at the Emanuel AME Church in July 2015.
The Black Googlers’ Network visit will allow its members to take part in discussions about the grant while interacting with the College community and encouraging the diverse voices of campus to be heard.
