Once again, the College of Charleston is the location for several major political events during this presidential primary season.

On Feb. 9, 2016, CNN will be on campus as part of their coverage of the New Hampshire primary. While the results are coming in, CNN will hold a focus group with more than a dozen South Carolina voters, including College of Charleston students, to get their reactions to various topics. The CNN focus group will assemble in the McAlister Hospitality Suite inside the TD Arena for the broadcast. You can watch the event live on CNN from 7:30 p.m. until 10 p.m.

On Feb. 11, 2016, POLITICO will hold two forums on campus as part of the College of Charleston’s Bully Pulpit Series. The POLITICO Caucus will focus on energy issues (3 p.m.) and
economic policies
(5:30 p.m.). The two forums will be held in Alumni Hall. Seating is limited and an RSVP is required; if you are interested in attending, please RSVP through POLITICO’s events page.

During the past 12 years, the College of Charleston Bully Pulpit Series has hosted dozens of presidential candidates. But candidates are not the only ones attracted to the College. In 2012, media outlets that include CNN, Fox News, NBC News and others broadcast political events or segments from the College of Charleston campus.

The College even hosted a campaign rally put on by comedian Stephen Colbert during the last presidential primary in which the Charlestonian sought to become the “President of the United States of South Carolina.”
