The trip to the College World Series begins this weekend.

The College of Charleston baseball team will open their season under first-year head coach Matt Heath on Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, with a three-game series against the University of Nebraska at Patriots Point. It is the first meeting between the schools.

First pitch on Friday will be at 4 p.m.

Saturday’s game will start at 2:30 p.m., and Sunday’s matchup will begin at 11 a.m.

The Cougars are coming off a 45-15 season in which they claimed the Colonial Athletic Association regular season title and earned a berth in the NCAA Tallahassee Regional.

This season, the College of Charleston is predicted to finish second in the CAA, according to a poll of the league’s coaches. Nebraska finished last season 34-23 under head coach Darin Erstad, who is entering his fifth season.
