They are involved in virtually every aspect of our students’ lives outside the classroom – from housing and campus events to club sports and medical care to counseling services and Greek organizations.

The staff of the College’s Division of Student Affairs helps support the cultural, social, emotional, physical, ethical and intellectual needs of our student body. Or as Alicia Caudill, executive vice president for Student Affairs, puts it: “We have the opportunity to see students in moments of their greatest joys and be with them in times of their deepest sorrows.”

Recently, the division held the 7th Annual Salute to Student Affairs Division Awards Program to thank its hardworking and dedicated staff and to recognize several individuals for their exceptional dedication to students.

This year’s award recipients are:

  • New Professional of the Year: Chris Bond, Student Life & Alexandra Greenawalt, Counseling & Substance Abuse Services
  • Outstanding Support Staff: Shawdy Huggins, Student Health Services & Mandi Bryson, Student Life
  • Excellence in Programming: Career Center Staff
  • Unsung Hero Award: Kate Dorsey, Counseling & Substance Abuse Services &  Susan Hartman, Office of the Executive Vice President
  • Administrator of the Year: Melantha Ardrey, Residence Life
  • Outstanding Campus Collaboration: Alison Berk, Office of the Dean of Students
  • George Haborak Award for Professional Development: Diane Cumbie, Higdon Student Leadership Center
  • Victor Wilson Service to Students Award: Casey Domnick, Fraternity & Sorority Life
