The College of Charleston has announced the members of the search committee for the College’s next athletics director. The committee will be chaired by Steve Osborne ’73, executive vice president for business affairs at the College of Charleston. The other members of the search committee are:
· Chuck Baker ’80, former Alumni Association president
· Vince Benigni, faculty athletics representative
· Mercedes Fabers ’07, assistant general counsel
· Otto German ’73, assistant athletics director for compliance
· Jerry Hale, dean, School of Humanities and Social Sciences
· Randy Lowell ’95, College of Charleston Board of Trustees member
· Deni Mitchell, institutional ombudsperson
· Jeff Schilz ’00, College of Charleston Board of Trustees member
· Zack Sturman, College of Charleston senior and former SGA president
· George P. Watt Jr., executive vice president for Institutional Advancement
· Tomi Youngblood, Cougar Club past president and president-elect
“I am delighted that each of these individuals has agreed to serve on the search committee,” said College of Charleston President Glenn McConnell ’69. “They have broad perspectives and experiences that together will provide a strong foundation for a successful search.”
The College’s new athletic director will replace Joe Hull, who is stepping down from his position when his contract expires at the end of 2016.
