The following letter was sent by School of Business Dean Alan Shao to friends and supporters of the school.
Dear friends of the School of Business,
It is with gratitude and enthusiasm that I present the College of Charleston School of Business 2015-2016 Donor Recognition Report. Each year, we produce a report that celebrates the generous donors who enable so many incredible Ready-to-Work opportunities for our students and faculty. This year is no exception; in fact, it marks a significant milestone as we cross the finish line of the BOUNDLESS Campaign, the College’s largest and most successful campaign in our institution’s 246-year history.
The campus-wide fundraising initiative, which launched publicly in November 2014 and culminated on June 30, 2016, denotes a new era of distinction at the College. An announcement of the overall results of BOUNDLESS was released on Aug. 8, 2016.
The Campaign was transformative for the School of Business, thanks to hundreds of alumni, donors, and friends investing in our people and programs. From the launch of a state-of-the-art Investment Program to the addition of several new scholarships (for real estate students, MBA candidates and more) and an incredible gift to support study abroad, to the creation of a unique faculty award to the seeding of our Student Advancement Center to enhance career development, donor support during BOUNDLESS has propelled us to new heights.
And, we ended the Campaign with a bang, as this year’s numbers confirm. Thanks to our Board of Governors, alumni, parents, corporate partners, and other friends who supported the School of Business from July 1, 2015, through June 30, 2016, gifts and pledges totaled $2,830,115.
I am excited to share with you some specific examples of your philanthropy at work within this year’s issue. Please take some time to read individual impact stories and see the names of our generous donors.
While the results of the BOUNDLESS Campaign are certainly worthy of celebration, the momentum has just begun. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for our students, faculty and programs as a result of our incredible donors who understand the value in investing in Ready-to-Work graduates.
With gratitude,
Alan T. Shao
