Students from the College of Charleston School of Business’ Microfinance Club are hosting free finance classes to help Lowcountry residents better plan for the future.
Classes will be held every Wednesday at 6 p.m. beginning on Oct. 5, 2016, and running until Nov. 16, 2016.
Topics for individual seminar sessions include budgeting, saving for retirement, establishing and improving credit, investing in the stock market and more.
The classes will be taught by Professor of Finance Jocelyn Evans and several College of Charleston business students.
The classes will be held in Room 131 of the Tate Center, 5 Liberty St. They are free and open to the public.
The School of Business has 2,300 students enrolled in ready-to-work programs including eight undergraduate majors, an Honors Program in Business, several interdisciplinary minors, and two master’s programs in business and accountancy. The School of Business is recognized among the top 30 colleges for studying business abroad by the Business Research Guide. The faculty’s scholarly research expertise is steeped in areas such as supply chain management, cross-cultural marketing, executive leadership, hospitality and tourism, political economics, financial investment, bankruptcy, entrepreneurship, commercial real estate, and consumer research.
