As the Cougars men’s basketball team worked up to a win against Elon on Saturday, College of Charleston President Glenn McConnell ’69 prepared to make his big musical debut. Stepping in the booth with game-regular DJ NattyHeavy, the TD Arena announcer asked the crowd to welcome DJ Glenn McCoco (a.k.a. McConnell).
Clyde the Cougar and the CofC cheerleaders joined McConnell as he played Grass Roots’ “Let’s Live For Today,” Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs’ “Stay Just a Little Bit Longer,” and Flo Rida’s “My House.” Fun fact: McConnell actually brought the Grass Roots to campus when he was student body president at CofC.
