The College of Charleston athletics department has made several alterations to its schedule of events for this weekend in concert with the College’s cancellation of classes and other campus events, as announced by College President Glenn McConnell ’69 on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 7, 2017.
Women’s soccer’s matches at Miami (Sept. 8) and Florida Atlantic (Sept. 10) have been canceled. Men’s soccer will not host UAB on Tuesday, September 12, and possibilities of a make-up contest are still be explored. Men’s tennis has withdrawn from the Southern Intercollegiates at the University of Georgia; women’s tennis has elected to cancel its 17th Annual CofC Invitational next weekend, which will not be rescheduled.
The CofC volleyball team will travel to Kent, Ohio for the Kent State Invitational as scheduled, but its match with Butler on Saturday has been pushed back from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The Invitational at The Ocean Course, to be hosted by the men’s golf team on Monday and Tuesday, has been canceled. Women’s golf will travel to Williamsburg, Va. for the William & Mary Invitational as planned.
