The College of Charleston Bully Pulpit Series and WCIV ABC News 4 will host two gubernatorial debates May 15 and May 16, 2018, leading up to the midterm primary election in South Carolina in June.
The debates will be held in the Stern Student Center Ballroom on the College of Charleston campus, as well as broadcast live on the following stations around the state of South Carolina:

WACH FOX 57 Columbia
WPDE ABC 15 Myrtle Beach
WLOS ABC 13 Asheville
The Democratic Debate will be held on May 15 at 7 p.m. and will include participants Phil Noble, James Smith and Marguerite Willis.
The Republican Debate will be held on May 16 at 7 p.m. and will include Kevin Bryant, Yancey McGill, Catherine Templeton and John Warren. Gov. Henry McMaster declined the invitation to participate.
“The College of Charleston’s Bully Pulpit Series is very excited to help bring a debate to the Lowcountry,” says professor Gibbs Knotts, chair of the Department of Political Science at the College of Charleston. “There are so many critical issues at stake in the 2018 governor’s race, and we look forward to providing a forum to help voters learn more about the candidates.”
Doors to the Stern Center Ballroom will open each night at 6 p.m. Guests must be seated by 6:45 p.m.
ABCNews 4 anchor Dean Stephens will moderate both debates.
Limited tickets are free and open to the public. Guests must show Eventbrite tickets upon arrival to gain access to the event. Each debate requires a different ticket. One ticket will not permit access to both debates.
