The College of Charleston School of Business has been recognized in several recent national rankings by education publications.
The School’s one-year Master of Business Administration program has been ranked as the No. 7 accelerated MBA program in the country by MBA Central. The website assessed schools according to affordability, support services and the quality of classes.
“The MBA tuition rates at the College of Charleston are affordable,” according to the MBA Central review. “This price point along with the program’s small class sizes, mentorship program and extremely high job placement rating all make the Master of Business Administration at the College of Charleston an investment that prospective students can feel confident in.”
Ron Magnuson, the director of the College’s MBA program, says there are many reasons why CofC’s MBA program is a success.
“Many current and former C-level executives call Charleston, South Carolina home,” says Magnuson. “As business leaders, they’ve chosen to be personally and directly engaged with our MBAs, giving them career advice, passing on their knowledge and sharing their connections. It’s an incredible opportunity for an MBA candidate to be mentored by such executive talent. In fact, for many of our students, their mentor has opened the doors to exciting careers.”
Last year, U.S. News & World Report recognized the College’s MBA program, which is housed in the School of Business, as No.1 in the country for its job placement rate.
“Our accelerated program condenses a traditional two-year program into one rigorous year, ensuring that students not only save a year of tuition and fees, but also re-enter the workforce quickly, and graduate with new skills and knowledge to make their mark in business and beyond,” says Alan Shao, dean of the School of Business. “In addition to the affordability, strong reputation and AACSB accreditation of our program, our world-class faculty and staff work with business leaders to identify the core professional development skills, knowledge and perspectives that make graduates stand out in the global talent marketplace. Our program is designed to help students dramatically increase and measure the impact of their abilities in these crucial areas. They emerge as changed individuals primed for successful careers.”
In another survey of national rankings, the website Study.com praised the College in two categories.
In Study.com‘s latest rankings of the top finance programs in the country, the College’s finance program was ranked No. 5 in the nation. Study.com also named the School of Business as the No. 16 top business school in the country. According to the report, “the emphasis at the College of Charleston’s School of Business is on preparing students for the workplace. You’ll find a Student Success Center here designed to help you with your career questions, internship opportunities and study abroad goals.”
Jocelyn Evans, associate dean of the School of Business, says the relationships the School has with the business community are essential to setting students up for success.
“From day one, our students are given instant access to the School’s extensive business network,” Evans says. “These relationships grow and flourish over the course of the their academic careers, accounting for the many professional opportunities that often await our business students upon graduation.”
