From suffragettes to Freedom Riders, history is full of women who’ve kicked in the door on public service, education, arts, media, sports and much more. During Women’s History Month (March), OID, MSPS, the SDIC and CofC College Democrats will host an inspiring message by South Carolina state Representative Gilda Cobb-Hunter as she highlights some of the “sheroes” who’ve inspired her long career in the state legislature. Activism Lunch and Learn

March 12 // 12-1:30 p.m. // Stern Student Center Room 201

It’s been said that no one can do everything, but everyone can do something. The same holds true for addressing social justice issues. At the end of the day, what matters most is that you make your voice heard. WGS and the Department of Political Science invite you to do just that by attending this lunchtime panel discussion featuring student and community activists making a difference on campus and in Charleston. This event is open to the public. Lunch is provided.

Campus Communities Fair

March 13 // 11 a.m.-1 p.m. // George Street

RBG Film Screening

March 14 // 6-9 p.m. // Education Center Room 118

The film RBG explores the life and career of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Nominated by former President Bill Clinton and unanimously confirmed by Congress, Ginsburg’s impact on American life has not only benefited women, but also men. Join the SDIC and CofC College Democrats for this important film. The event will end with a birthday celebration of assorted pies and refreshments in honor of both Justice Ginsburg’s birthday and National Pi Day.
