March Madness has taken hold in Charleston as the College of Charleston and Colonial Athletic Association host the 2019 CAA Men’s Basketball Championship at the North Charleston Coliseum March 9-12, 2019.

This is the third and final year the College will host the CAA championship tournament. The Cougars closed out the regular season on March 2, 2019, beating UNCW 70-61, and head into the tournament as the No. 3 seed and defending 2018 CAA Champions.

As Head Coach Earl Grant prepares his team to take on its first tournament opponent at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2019, here’s what you need to know to cheer on the Cougars!

Saturday, March 9 – First Round
G1 – #8 James Madison vs. #9 Towson – 4 p.m.
G2 – #7 Elon vs. #10 UNCW – 6:30 p.m.

Sunday, March 10 – Quarterfinals
G3 – #1 Hofstra vs. game 1 winner – Noon
G4 – #4 William & Mary vs. #5 Delaware – 2:30 p.m.
G5 – #2 Northeastern vs. game 2 winner – 6 p.m.
G6 – #3 College of Charleston vs. #6 Drexel – 8:30 p.m.

Monday, March 11 – Semifinals
G7 – Winner of Game 3 vs. Winner of Game 4 – 6 p.m.
G8 – Winner of Game 5 vs. Winner of Game 6 – 8:30 p.m.

Tuesday, March 12 – Championship
G9 – Winner of Game 7 vs. Winner of Game 8 – 7 p.m.

Where to watch: 

CAA.TV will be the online home for live coverage of the CAA Basketball Championship, including the first round and quarterfinals. The conference’s home for all things digital can also be accessed by mobile devices, as well as platforms on Roku, AppleTV, Amazon Fire TV, and Android TV. The semifinals and championship game will be televised live on CBS Sports Network.

Student Tickets:

Student tickets are $7 and can be purchased at the North Charleston Coliseum Box Office with a CofC student ID. Students who attended at least four home conference men’s basketball games this season will have an opportunity to claim a free ticket for Sunday’s game from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, March 8, at the TD Arena Ticket Office. After that time, remaining free tickets for Sunday’s game will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis to any College of Charleston student from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. All students must present a valid student ID in order to redeem a free ticket. If the Cougars advance to the Monday and Tuesday night games, free student tickets will be made available for pick-up at the TD Arena Ticket Office on Monday, March 11, and Tuesday, March 12. No free student tickets will be available at the coliseum.

Faculty and Staff Tickets:

College of Charleston faculty and staff can receive up to six free ticket vouchers, which will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis at the TD Arena Box Office from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday, March 8. Vouchers must be redeemed for tickets at the North Charleston Coliseum Box Office.

General Admissions Tickets: 

Tickets for first-round and quarterfinal games start at $10. Tickets for semifinal games start at $20. Tickets for the championship game start at $30. Tickets can be purchased at the North Charleston Coliseum Box Office or online through Tickemaster.

Safety first:

The North Charleston Coliseum has a clear bag policy. All patrons attending CAA tournament games will only be allowed to bring in clear bags to carry items such as cell phones or wallets. Clear bags can be purchased in the College of Charleston Bookstore on Calhoun Street.

Parking:

Parking at the North Charleston Coliseum is $10 per car, cash only.

College of Charleston Athletics has organized free transportation for CofC students from campus to the coliseum. The transportation schedule is as follows::

Bus arrives: 6:30 p.m.
Student depart time: 7 p.m. Students must present their Cougar ID to board the bus. (The first 100 students will get a FREE clear bag for the stadium)   
Leave and Return to 71 George St. 30-45 minutes after game from the South Entrance of the Coliseum

Monday, March 11 Semifinal game (*If the Cougars advance)
Pickup Location: Stern Center, 71 George Street
Bus arrives: 6:30 p.m.
Student depart time: 7 p.m. Students must present their Cougar ID to board the bus.
