The College of Charleston North Campus is hosting monthly career readiness events for military, veterans and military spouses in the Lowcountry.

The next career readiness event is on Saturday, July 20 from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The goal is to provide veterans and their families with the tools they need and the opportunity to connect with local within a specific industry. In July, the North Campus will host a career development event for those interested in the maintenance and manufacturing industry.

Each event begins with a resume and interviewing workshop where participants will have the opportunity to update their resume in a computer lab with the help of the human resources managers. Then, participants will receive real tips on how to prepare for an in-person interview.

After a short break, participants will attend an employer panel where each employer will have the opportunity to talk about their company and what they look for in applicants.

Following the employer panel, participants will have the opportunity to meet with each company and ask one-on-one questions.

Future events include a military spouse hiring event, a networking event and a traditional job fair with employers from all industries. Follow the School of Professional Studies on facebook to stay up to date on the latest career development events.
