The College of Charleston has appointed Mark Del Mastro as its new associate provost for curriculum and academic administration in the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Del Mastro has served as the chair of the College’s Department of Hispanic Studies for nine years. Before coming to the College, he was a Spanish professor at The Citadel. He earned his Ph.D. in Spanish literature from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree in Spanish from Middlebury College. Del Mastro’s academic insight and years of administrative experience will provide a critical component in his management of the College’s curriculum and policies.
Michael Gómez, professor and associate chair of Hispanic studies, will assume the role of Hispanic studies chair on Aug. 5, 2019.
