President Andrew T. Hsu sent the following message to the College of Charleston community regarding workshops for the College’s ongoing strategic planning process:

Dear Campus Community,

As you know, we are currently undergoing a strategic planning process.

Blue Beyond, the management consulting firm helping us with our strategic planning process, will be visiting campus next week to host focus groups with select constituencies on campus, such as students and facilities management. In addition, they will be hosting two workshops that are open to all faculty, staff and students.

These workshops will guide participants through the strategic planning journey while capturing their input on many important topics concerning the College’s future. Using a “journey map” and working in small groups, participants will explore the College’s strengths gained over its rich history and the changes we’re seeing in higher education; then, they will use this data to imagine the future of the College through engaging dialogue with other participants. Key takeaways from these sessions will be critical information for the College’s Strategic Planning Steering Committee as they develop the strategic plan.

The dates and times for the workshops are:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 18, 9 a.m.–12 p.m., Stern Center Ballroom
  • Wednesday, Sept. 18, 1–4 p.m., Stern Center Ballroom

Please RSVP for either workshop by emailing rsvp1@cofc.edu. This will help us accurately plan the room setup and ensure that as many people as possible will be able to participate.

If you can’t make it next week, Blue Beyond will be back on campus in October. There will be other opportunities for involvement for all faculty, staff, students and community members on Oct. 16. More details regarding those opportunities will be communicated to campus at a later date.

Sincerely,

Andrew
