The College of Charleston is offering its staff, faculty and students a two-day Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) class on Jan. 6 and 7, 2020.

The classes meet from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., and participation in both days is required to attend. The fee for materials/registration is $50, payable by cash, check or through CofC Marketplace.

This intensive ASIST training workshop is for anyone who would like to feel more confident and competent when identifying, intervening and referring a person in a suicidal crisis. It is especially recommended for people who have one-on-one interaction with students (e.g., staff, faculty and mentors in residence life, academic advising, etc.) or are pursuing careers with high-risk populations. Participants will benefit from learning, discussing and practicing suicide first aid.
