Due to inclement weather, Chanukah in the Square has been moved to Chabad of Charleston and the Low Country at 477 Mathis Ferry Road in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
Join with members of the Jewish community on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2019, for the 12th annual Chanukah in the Square extravaganza, sponsored by the Norman and Gerry Sue Arnold Foundation and the City of Charleston.
Once again the College of Charleston Yaschik/Arnold Jewish Studies Program and Chabad of Charleston – Center for Jewish Life have partnered with the City of Charleston Office of Cultural Affairs and many other community organizations to host the largest annual Jewish event in the state of South Carolina. Chanukah in the Square is a wonderful, family-friendly way to come together as a community.
Charleston’s local Holocaust survivors will continue the tradition of lighting the menorah candles. Please plan on being there with your neighbors, friends and family. Bring an appetite and your dancing shoes as we are accompanied by Local Klezmer 42 of Athens, Georgia. As always, we will supply the hot food, the live music and the festive atmosphere!
Chanukah in the Square will take place from 4-6 p.m. in Marion Square Park at the corner of King and Calhoun streets in downtown Charleston. The event is also made possible thanks to Berlin’s Restaurant Supply, the Hyman family, Glowfisch Hospitality Group and the Homegrown Hospitality Group’s T-Bonz Foundation.
