The Winter 2020 issue of College of Charleston Magazine, celebrating the institution’s 250th anniversary, is just arriving throughout campus, in homes across the country and around the globe. The diverse collection of stories includes six-pages of photos of the inauguration of President Andrew T. Hsu, along with a number of profiles of interesting students, faculty and alumni. The College of Charleston is celebrating its 250th anniversary in 2020 and an important part of that commemoration is an honest look at its complex history. In this first installation of several 250th-related pieces over the next year, we look at “history makers” associated with the College who have figured prominently on the national and international stage.
