As part of the College’s 250th anniversary, the Student Events and Programs Committee is pleased to present the Phenomenal Women Award and Reception.

Named for the poem “Phenomenal Woman” by Maya Angelou, the Phenomenal Women program honors and celebrates women from all walks of life who have made contributions to diversity in the College of Charleston and larger Charleston communities. Through the recognition of these contributions, the Phenomenal Women program hopes to inspire others to embrace and promote diversity within their own lives.

Nominee requirements for students are as follows: minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.25; minimum graduate GPA of 3.25; serve as a role model for other College of Charleston students; and be a champion for diversity. CofC faculty, staff and community nominees must show a demonstrated, profound impact on the lives of others in the community; serve as a role model for others in the community; and be a champion for diversity.

Phenomenal Women Award recipients must embody characteristics of vision and leadership, serve as a positive role model, have a focus on community service and reflect alignment with College of Charleston values.
