The College of Charleston believes it’s important to get the COVID-19 vaccine because it wants to protect the campus community and beyond. That’s why the College launched the Vax on the Bricksย campaign this summer and has set a goal to have 90% of students vaccinated, which will allow for as normal a semester as possible.ย
“We can’t wait to welcome you back this fall, and we’re excited to return to a new normal,” says Leeย Penny, director ofย Student Health Services. “The closer we get to 90%, the bigger the collective reward.”ย
The COVID-19 vaccine is completely voluntary for students. CofC Presidentย Andrew T. Hsuย says students are asked to upload their vaccination status to the College’s medical records database to help in campus health and safety planning for the fall 2021 semester.ย
“By getting vaccinated we increase our chances of having a disruption-free semester,” Hsu says.ย
“The more information we have about our community, the better we can plan for your experience,” adds Penny.ย
Students should upload their vaccination record to Student Health Services at go.cofc.edu/vax-upload.ย ย
