Above: MyPortal serve as a gateway to Banner and other programs and will offer application tiles to give users access to different platforms and services.
In the coming weeks, the College of Charleston campus community will experience new ways to access and manage information. The College will be introducing MyPortal, a role-based (for example faculty, staff and students) mobile and web-based app that will serve as the gateway to the College’s upgraded Student Information System, Human Resources System and Finance System (Banner), along with other applications.
MyPortal will make it easier for faculty, staff and students to conduct business with the university. MyPortal will provide access to academic and administrative applications and services — everything from My Grades, student records and course registration to timesheets, leave balances and parking services.

Based on your role at the College, access to applications will be provided through tiles. For example, on your phone, desktop or tablet, you will see tiles such as College Bookstore, registration tools, parking and eBill. Select the appropriate tile, and you will have access to the relevant information. Tiles for students will include OAKS and My Holds, which will integrate with other apps to pull in key data; tiles for employees will include personal information and leave reports.
It is important to note that MyPortal will continue to evolve with more application tiles and functionality added over time. As the app develops, there may be tiles where the user will be directed to a site that will require the user to authenticate for a second time.
The MyPortal and the Self-Service Banner upgrade will ultimately offer greater accessibility in one convenient location. As MyPortal is built out, patience will be key and richly rewarded when MyPortal reaches its full potential.
When MyPortal and the Banner upgrade take place, please be sure to explore them fully. These user-friendly, intuitive services present an opportunity for simplifying life at CofC.
