Imagine coming to work and easily accessing information. That’s exactly what you’ll have with the official launch of MyPortal, a new mobile and web-based app that gives faculty, staff and students the ability to do business with the College of Charleston from their computer or mobile device.

The next evolution of MyCharleston, the MyPortal desktop version can be accessed through myportal.cofc.edu. The mobile application is available for download through the Google and Apple app stores by searching “College of Charleston MyPortal.”

With the new intuitive system, faculty and staff can simply and easily update personal information, record time off, view leave balances, etc. by accessing the upgraded Banner software and other applications.  MyPortal’s catalogue of services will continue to grow as functionality and new apps become available.

“Our goal is to make employee information more easily accessible in one location,” says Ed Pope, vice president of Human Resources.“We also hope to enhance efficiencies by automating some business processes with workflows. We want employees to have information at their fingertips and to make working more efficient for all of us.”

Through the MyPortal home screen personalization, users can make the app their own – moving what’s important to the top of the screen and removing those tiles that may not apply or be necessary.

All MyPortal users can:

  • Move and arrange tiles on their home screen
  • Add and remove selected tiles from their home screen
  • Search and find new tiles to enhance their home screen

A lunch and learn session will be held via Zoom on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021, at 12 p.m. so employees can better understand how user friendly and intuitive MyPortal is.  Also, as they explore MyPortal, faculty and staff can provide feedback through the “MyPortal Feedback” tile. For technical difficulties, please fill out a ticket with IT.

MyPortal will continue to evolve with more application tiles and functionality added over time so be sure to check MyPortal regularly. Please note that in order to not overcomplicate the grading process, faculty grades will continue to be on MyCharleston for the fall semester.
