The Division of Information Technology is holding a series of online learning opportunities for new users to applications like Teams, Yammer, Outlook, Forms and even CougarED and LinkedIn Learning.

The following 30-minute webinars are targeted for new employees or individuals wanting application basics along with a few extra tips:

  • Microsoft Outlook: Wednesday, May 11, 10:30–11 a.m. – Register here
    Microsoft Outlook is an email client that includes functions like calendaring, task managing and contact managing. This webinar will introduce the best practices of using Microsoft Outlook and will touch on calendar tips and meetings, creating your signature, setting out-of-office replies, creating and using templates and more.
  • Microsoft Teams: Tuesday, May 17, 2:30–3 p.m. – Register here
    Microsoft Teams is a communication and collaboration platform for chatting/messaging, video meetings and file sharing/storage (including collaboration on files). This session will introduce the best practices of using Microsoft Teams and will touch on basics like creating a Team, Team settings, as well as adding channels, tabs and files.
  • Microsoft OneDrive: Thursday, May 19, 2:30–3 p.m. – Register here
    OneDrive is Microsoft’s online cloud storage platform. It provides 1 TB of storage and safely synchs and stores files of all types from your hard drive, allowing you to work from anywhere, on any device. It also serves as a collaboration tool, allowing several people to edit Office documents online simultaneously, and as a document management tool, with automatic version history tracking. This webinar will introduce best practices on how to access, save and share files, as well as how to view file history and restore to earlier versions.
  • CougarED and LinkedIn Learning: Tuesday, May 24, 2:30–3 p.m. – Register here
    CougarED provides College of Charleston faculty and staff access to online learning, training and development, including the LinkedIn Learning platform. This session will demonstrate when or why to use each application, how to view assigned courses, how to search for content and enroll in a course. LinkedIn Learning content will cover site navigation, saving courses and creating a collection of courses.
  • Microsoft Yammer: Wednesday, May 25, 10:30–11 a.m. – Register here
    Microsoft Yammer is more essential than ever for employees. Think of Yammer as a social networking tool just for you and your colleagues across campus to connect, discuss ideas, share updates and even buy and sell things. This web session will introduce the best practices of using Microsoft Yammer and will cover the basics, like when to use Yammer, Yammer settings, communities, types of posts and more.
  • Microsoft Forms: Thursday, May 26, 2:30–3 p.m. – Register here
    Microsoft Forms is a great way to gather opinions across wide audiences, even outside CofC. This session will introduce you to Forms and will include creating and previewing forms, using themes, branching questions to better fit question navigation, Forms settings and sharing.
