The campus community received the following message from the College of Charleston COVID-19 Leadership Team on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, regarding COVID-19 protocols for the upcoming academic year:

Dearย Campus Community,

In preparation for the upcoming 2022-23 academic year, the College of Charleston has established the COVID-19 protocols outlined below. These guidelines are intended to minimize the spread of the virus in our community while at the same time allowย us to continue providing exceptional academic and campus life experiences for our students.https://today.cofc.edu/2022/08/08/cofc-adjusts-covid-isolation-measures-for-residential-students/

Due to the increased availability of vaccines, treatments and rapid testing, South Carolina, along with other states and the federal government, has begun treating COVID-19 as an endemic virus. This designation means that the disease is circulating at an expected or normal level, minus an occasional outbreak.

As you make plans to return to campus, please be aware of the recommendations that were communicated to the campus community on July 6, 2022.

As a part of the protocols listed below, all students, including returning students, should complete the College of Charleston COVID-19 Vaccination Documentation Formย by 5 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2022.

While the protocols listed below will be in effect for the start of the fall semester, the Collegeโ€™s leadership will continue to monitor conditions closelyย on and off campus and will make adjustmentsย as necessary. The protocols willย be maintained and updated on the Collegeโ€™s Back on the Bricks website.

The College has weathered the pandemic with minimal disruption to our operations due to the resilience and response of our campus community, including high vaccination rates among students and employees. We continue to encourage everyone to get vaccinated and boosted, so that we can maintain our positive momentum into the new academic year.ย

Students and employees who have questions about the Collegeโ€™s COVID-19 protocols may send an email to covid19@cofc.edu.ย In addition, College officials will hold a virtual town hall for families and studentsย to address our COVID-19 protocols andย answer questions priorย to the start of classes. Details will be announced soon.

We are excited to welcome everyone back for another academic year and look forward to seeing all of you on campus soon.

Sincerely,

CofC COVID-19 Leadership Teamย
