Michael Baney

Background: Originally from Deptford, New Jersey, I have been officially living in South Carolina since the summer of 2018. I graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a B.S. in information technology and a minor in new media and digital culture.

Interests: I am an avid book reader and love to watch any movies or TV shows that pique my interest. I will try to strike up a conversation about any of the niche topics I am passionate about: nerd culture, professional wrestling, Dungeons & Dragons, the list goes on!

Looking Forward: I have always loved the college environment, and I am looking forward to continuing to feel like I am a part of something bigger. Creating interpersonal relationships with the staff here at the College to ensure that their issues are met and completed with efficiency is always a top priority for me.

 

Robin Bradley

Background: I am originally from the Upstate of South Carolina, where I attended Clemson University and obtained a B.S. in parks, recreation and tourism management and a M.S. in youth development leadership. Before coming to Charleston, I was working as a graduate assistant in the Athletic Department at Clemson.

Interests: In my spare time I love exploring Charleston with my dog Charlie! I enjoy going to the beach, the gym and any local restaurant.

Looking Forward: I am excited to work with the School of Business students to help them navigate their academic workloads, while also supporting them and watching them achieve their goals. I am looking forward to working with a great team within the Student Success Center and experiencing the family atmosphere it has to offer.

 

Caleb Carman

Background: I live in Kankakee, Illinois, with my wife and three sons. Prior to starting with the College of Charleston, I worked at Olivet Nazarene University as a business analyst.

Interests: In my spare time I like completing home renovations, drumming, cooking, playing baseball with my three sons and going on family adventures!

Looking Forward: I look forward to working with the teams at CofC, learning from coworkers and helping the College reach its goals.

 

Sam Duncan

Background: I was a middle and high school Spanish teacher for eight years before working at the College.

Interests: I love to travel. Camping and visiting national parks is one of my favorite things to do. I also enjoy playing basketball and tennis.

Looking Forward: I look forward to connecting with students who attend the College and ensuring that they are provided with a safe learning environment supported by the community.

 

Cailin Johnson

Background: I am a proud CofC and Honors College alum! I am originally from the Cincinnati area, and after graduation from CofC, I taught English in Vietnam and traveled the world.

Interests: Travel is of paramount importance to me! I have been to over 40 countries and hope to explore even more in the upcoming years. While I’m back in Charleston, I hope to enjoy Folly Beach, the food scene and the downtown/historic districts!

Looking Forward: I am so excited to be back at my alma mater. I have such fond memories of being a student at CofC and the Honors College, and I can’t wait to express my passion for both while I meet with prospective students across the nation.

Background: I am from Hartsville, South Carolina, and got my bachelor’s degree in music education from the University of South Carolina. I taught high school band in South Carolina for three years before moving to Texas and working in higher education as an admissions counselor.

Interests: I enjoy cooking, playing video games and watching women’s basketball. I am a huge fan of the South Carolina women’s basketball team and the WNBA.

Looking Forward: I am looking forward to growing as a professional in the field of higher education and taking on a new challenge!

 

Gabie Sears

Background: I recently graduated from the College of Charleston this Spring. Before graduating, I worked as a student employee in the admissions department. I am from Rock Hill, South Carolina, where I will be working remotely.

Interests: I love reading, which I think helped me survive college. I’ll read just about anything from thrillers to nonfiction. I also enjoy going out to the movie theater to see the latest film. And I like to spend time with my friends and family, going out camping or to concerts.

Looking Forward: As a student employee, I enjoyed the community aspect of working for the College. I am excited to continue working for such a positive team and hope to further develop my skills in the workplace.

 

Alex Tolle

Background: I was born and raised in Ellicott City, Maryland, and received my bachelor’s degree in communication and theatre arts at McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland. Before coming to the College of Charleston, I worked for a small business on Ellicott City’s historic Main Street, and prior to that I worked in development at Everyman Theatre in Baltimore.

Interests: I enjoy spending time with friends, reading, going to farmers markets, playing video games and shopping with small businesses. Outside of my work, I run an Etsy shop called CarryMyHeartDesigns and make fun things like glassware, stickers and décor.

Looking Forward: I am looking forward to working with my awesome team and being part of this beautiful city!
