The College of Charleston will host its 4th annual CofC Day on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, celebrating the 253rd anniversary of the university’s founding in late January 1770.

To build pride, excitement and energy among the College’s more than 10,000 current students leading up to CofC Day – the College’s annual 24-hour day of giving – Spirit Week will feature a variety of fun events with complimentary food, T-shirts and giveaways. From 9 a.m. to noon at the clock in front of Sottile House Jan. 23-25, Spirit Week events will include:

  • Jan. 23 is Maroon Monday: Come by for free coffee with Clyde the Cougar and a sustainable, reusable CofC coffee sleeve. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to wear maroon.
  • Jan. 24 is Tradition Tuesday: Enjoy free popcorn with professors and celebrate more than 200 years of academic excellence and the Cougar tradition of getting involved on campus. Students, faculty and staff are asked to wear their favorite CofC club or organization attire.
  • Jan. 25 is Way Back Wednesday: Stop by for free doughnuts with the deans, hear music from the 1980s and check out 1980 issues of The Comet yearbook. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to wear vintage attire from the 1980s.
