On Thursday, April 13, 2023, EXPO 2023 will showcase the amazing work by College of Charleston students under the mentorship of professors.
Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to submit any project conducted during summer 2022 or the 2022-23 academic year where they worked with a faculty mentor, including research, scholarship, creative inquiry or community service projects. Student projects could be research as part of a capstone class, work in a professor’s lab, a bachelor’s essay, a community service project or simply an outstanding paper … just to name a few.
Students should talk with their faculty mentor about submitting an abstract and then review the abstract submission guidelines. The abstract submission portal is open. The deadline to submit abstracts is Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023, at 5 p.m.
“EXPO 2023 brings our campus together to celebrate the great work our students and faculty are doing,” says Suzanne Austin, executive vice president for academic affairs and provost at the College of Charleston. “I highly encourage students to participate and share their work. It is a wonderful opportunity to showcase their projects as well as build their networks.”
Last year more than 230 students from disciplines across the College of Charleston campus shared their mentored research as part of the inaugural EXPO 2022 and a total of 33 students received awards for their presentations and quality of research conducted. Schools, departments and honor societies will sponsor student awards for EXPO 2023.
