Joshua Shanes, associate professor of Jewish studies at the College of Charleston, has published an article in The Conversation that examines the differences between Jewish denominations.

“As a scholar of modern Jewish history, religion and politics, I am often asked to explain the differences between Judaism’s major denominations,” writes Shanes.

In the article, Shanes explains the history and beliefs behind the three major groups: Reform, Orthodox and Conservative.
